Teen killed as scooter hits SUV

MOHALI: A 16-year old boy was killed in a road accident here today. The victim has been identified as Parkash Bahadur, a native of Nepal who was living in the Industrial Area, Phase 6, Mohali, with his mother.

A 16-year old boy was killed in a road accident here today. The victim has been identified as Parkash Bahadur, a native of Nepal who was living in the Industrial Area, Phase 6, Mohali, with his mother. His cousin, Usha, a resident of Phase 3A, Mohali, received serious injuries in the mishap.

The police said Parkash and Usha were going to the latter’s house in Phase 3A on an Activa scooter, which was being driven by Usha. When they reached Phase I, their scooter collided with an SUV. The police said the SUV was also going in the same direction and the victims were Teen dead as scooter hits SUV behind the SUV. The police said the SUV suddenly took a turn and the victims rammed their scooter into it. Both of them fell on the road and suffered serious injuries. 

They were taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Parkash brought dead, while Usha was referred to the GMCH, Sector 32.

The police said the body of Parkash had been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital, Phase 6, and the postmortem would be conducted tomorrow. A case has been registered in this connection at the Phase I police station.
