Chandigarh, October 16

A 19-year-old has been held guilty in a case of kidnapping and gang rape. Another accused in the case was however acquitted due to lack of evidence.

The convict is identified as Naseem while Arun Kumar, the co-accused in the case, has been acquitted.

The court will pronounce the quantum of sentence for Naseem on October 18.

Naseem was accused of keeping the victim in Hyderabad and raping her.

Allegations against Arun were that he had forcibly taken the victim to Hyderabad and also raped her.

However, these allegations could not be proved.

The victim’s advocate Sajjal Sharma informed that Naseem had raped her repeatedly over a period.

The case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother. The complainant stated that on September 4, 2017, his sister had left the house and did not return. After around 45 days, the girl returned home and informed the family about her ordeal.

She stated that Arun forcibly took her to Hyderabad from Sector 17 via Delhi in a train.

Arun had allegedly threatened her not to tell anyone about it or he would kill her family. They met Naseem in Hyderabad and the duo allegedly raped her.
