The police are yet to find any clue to the murder of Sarabjit Kaur, a teacher at Knowledge Bus Global School, Sunny Enclave, Kharar, who was shot dead by an unknown person outside her school yesterday morning. The police are also working on the angle of her estranged husband as the main suspect in the crime. His whereabouts are not known yet.

Sarabjit Kaur was shot dead by the assailant outside her school around 8 am as soon as she parked her Activa scooter. Her five-year-old daughter Radhia was also with her at the time of the crime.

Though the police are probing the murder case from several angles, their main suspicion is on the victim’s husband, Harvinder Singh. Sources said both husband and wife had come to India from France in 2018 and lived together for a few months. Later, the victim started living separately.  The police are yet to ascertain whether he is in India or abroad. The police have traced his family, which lives in Barnala, and are collecting information from it.

Kharar Sadar SHO Amandeep Singh said it was not yet confirmed whether the victim had filed a divorce petition against her husband, but there was a dispute between them. He said the mobile phone of the victim’s husband was switched off.
