Swine flu rears its ugly head

Two days after the death of a Chandigarh Police head constable due to swine flu, three more cases have surfaced in the city.

So far, 17 cases of swine flu have been reported in the city.

The flu has claimed the lives of four persons (three from the city and one from Himachal Pradesh).

Dr Gaurav Aggarwal, nodal officer of the UT Health Department, said the patients included a 35-year-old resident of Sector 24, a 44-year-old resident of Sector 18 and and a 35-year-old woman, a resident of Sector 52.

Dr Gaurav said all field units had been alerted and the Health Department had formed a rapid response team to tackle the situation.
