Swimming meet from June 8

A Chandigarh Open Swimming Championship, in association with Speedo India, will be organised at the Sector 23 all-weather swimming pool, Sector 23, from June 8 to 9. 

The interested swimmers can confirm their entries at the tournament venue before June 5. The championship will be organised in various age groups in both boys and girls category.  

The top three winners of each category will be awarded cash vouchers (Rs 1000, Rs 750 and Rs 500).  

A swimmer can participate in maximum of three events and the entry fee will be Rs 300 (for three events). The swimmers of the region (Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh) can participate in the championship. However no TA/DA will be given to the participants.

The events will be organised in the sub-junior U-8 years (born on January 1, 2011 or below), U-10 years (born between January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2010) and U-12 years (born between January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2008) 

categories.   

In junior U-14 years (born between January 1, 2005, to December 31, 2006) and U-17 years (born between January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2004) will be conducted, while in open U-25 category, swimmers of senior age-group will be eligible to participate. 

Over 60 events will be organised in this two-day championship and the list of events will be provided to the participants at the time of receiving the entries.
