Suspect in cop’s murder case arrested

AMBALA:The Ambala police have arrested a suspect in the Avtar Singh murder case, who was beaten to death by some people over old enmity in the Baldev Nagar area on Friday night.

The Ambala police have arrested a suspect in the Avtar Singh murder case, who was beaten to death by some people over old enmity in the Baldev Nagar area on Friday night.

The suspect has been identified as Kamaljeet Singh. The deceased, a resident of Panjokhra, was a head constable and was posted at the ADGP office in Ambala Cantonment. Baldev Nagar SHO Subhash Singh said, “Kamaljeet has been arrested and he will be produced before a court tomorrow. We will seek his remand and get information about other suspects in this case. Investigations are on.” A case was registered against Kamaljeet and some unidentified persons under Sections 148, 149 and 302 of the IPC at the Baldev Nagar police station.
