Suryanshi Tanwar registered a 6-1 6-0 win over Snigdha Sran to enter the girls’ U-16 semifinals in the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Tournament at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here on Wednesday.
Radhika Vasudeva humbled Milli Pandit 6-2 6-3, while Khushi Sharma downed Ananya Dogra 6-3 6-4. Jaskirat Kaur edged out Pawandeep Kaur 6-4 6-1 to make it to the last-four stage of the championship.
In the boys’ U-16 quarterfinals, Nishank Thakur overcame Lakshya Gupta 7-5 6-4, while Shubh Negi packed off Aarav Joshi 6-1 6-1. Divgurjot Singh dismissed Paras Chauhan 6-1 6-0.
Aarav Joshi eased into the boys’ U-14 semifinals after beating Shubham Singh 7-5 7-5 in the quarterfinals.
Aryan Jolly had an easy outing against Arnav Malik. He won 6-3 6-4 to book a berth in the semifinals. Lakshya Gupta dumped Darshan Dilbar Singh 6-1 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
In the remaining girls’ U-14 quarterfinals, Yashika Sharma thumped Arpan Saini 6-3 6-0 to stay on course for a place in the title clash.
