Students create awareness on sustainable tourism

CHANDIGARH: The Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Sector 42, celebrated the 9th day of Paryatan Parv with zeal and fervour by organising a rally on tourism today.

The Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Sector 42, celebrated the 9th day of Paryatan Parv with zeal and fervour by organising a rally on tourism today. Over 200 students along with principal, faculty and staff members participated in the event.

Through the rally, the institute emphasised over increasing public awareness on tourism with a special focus on sustainable tourism development, cleanliness of sites and cordial behaviour by the local population towards the tourists.

The students carrying colourful banners and placards, displaying slogans and messages, on positive aspects of tourism, pictures of unique tourism attractions of the city beautiful, participated with chanting “Atithi Devo Bhava’, ‘Paryatanki Unnati hai Desh Ki Unnati’, and ‘Paryatan Ka Rakho Dhyan tabhi Banegadesh Mahan’.

Bharti Tyagi, principal of the institute, flagged off the rally from Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10.

The participants completed the distance of about 4 km to Open Hand by marching through the streets having picturesque surroundings. The rally concluded with an overall message of interaction between tourists and the population.
