A New Delhi-based young classical vocalist, Sanhita Nandi, of 'Kirana gharana' captivated music lovers at the Baithak concert, organised by Pracheen Kala Kendra at the Koser Auditorium here on Tuesday.

Sanhita began her recital with a raga, 'shudh kalyan', through a popular 'bada khayal' composition, 'Bolan laagi' before a faster  paced ‘Mandarva jo re’. She doled out two compositions — 'Jinke mann mein Ram biraje' and 'Aaj morrey ghar aaye balma' and provided a befitting finale to her recital with an exciting 'thumri', 'piya bina nahi aawat chein'.

Tabla maestro Gautam Dhar and Tarun Joshi on harmonium augmented the concert level. Kendra registrar Shobha Koser and secretary Sajal Koser honoured the artistes.

He disclosed Pracheen Kala Kendra’s future plans, including awarding the Guru ML Koser’s annual honour.
