NCC cadets of Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, participated in the NCC annual training camp held at Ropar where they learned about the command and control of the armed forces and their way of living. Cadets understood the importance of discipline and time management. The cadets also had to go through various physical exercises and drill practices. Stepping Stones School contingent won the first position from amongst 14 renowned schools from Chandigarh. The cadets won first position in drill and quiz competition, and third in cultural segment. Aniket Sharma was adjudged the second best cadet in the competition.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

A special assembly was conducted at AKSIPS 41, Chandigarh, to commemorate Van Mahotsav Day. Students of Class XI spoke about the need to protect the environment and the importance of growing trees. Self-composed poems on environment were read out.

AKSIPS-45, Chandigarh

Students of AKSIPS-45, Chandigarh, enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Koti and Chail. Students visited various places of interest and participated in adventurous activities. Sumptuous food, comfortable stay in the hills and DJ nights were thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

DAV Police Public School, P’kula

DAV Police Public School, Sector 25, Panchkula, conducted capacity-building workshops under the aegis of the DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi, for teachers. The workshops were well graced by cluster heads — Jaya Bhardwaj, Principal, Hansraj Public School and Mamta Goel, Principal, DAV Senior Secondary School, Surajpur. Day one witnessed the participation of 15 DAV schools with 60 participants educating students of kindergarten, Classes I and II. The workshop aimed at enriching teachers for using multiple intelligences of children for effective teaching learning. Day two witnessed 17 participants teaching English as a subject. The workshops were concluded with a valedictory session and certificates were distributed to the participants by Principal Vandana Tripathi.

DAV School

The newly elected Student Council was sworn in at DAV School, Sector 8, Panchkula. Rajender Sharma, Dean (Houses), administered the oath. The council pledged to honour the responsibility vested in them. Principal Pathak welcomed them and urged them to be pro active and work effectively for the betterment of the school.

Brilliance World

The second batch of summer camp concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony held at Brilliance World School, Sector 12, Panchkula. "We held a summer camp in two batches of 15 days each in June. The camps were aimed at using vacations positively and constructively. The students were engaged in workshops on various activities such as art and craft, music, dance, taekwondo, cricket, lawn tennis, swimming, yoga and personality development," said Shyam Sunder, chairman, Brilliance World School.
