Chandigarh: St Stephan’s School, Sector 45, defeated Saupin’s School, Panchkula, by 48 runs to win the ICSE Inter-School Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday. Electing to bat, St Stephan’s scored 107/6 in 20 overs. Ripudaman hit a quick-fire 38, while Niyam Gupta made 31 runs. In reply, Saupin’s boys were bowled out for 59 runs in 16.2 overs. TNS

Harshit helps St Anne’s win

Chandigarh: Hosts St Anne’s School registered a 35-run win over Smart Wonder School, Mohali, in the opening match of the 14th Sister Alberta Memorial U-14 Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday. Batting first, the hosts made 152/4 in 20 overs. Harshit scored 64, while Sourish added 43 runs to the total. In reply, Smart Wonder School could only manage 117/6 in the allotted overs, even as Harnoor scored an unbeaten 82 off 80 balls. TNS
