St Kabir cagers edge past NPS

Hosts St Kabir Public School registered a 12-2 win over National Public School (NPS) on the third day of the St Kabir Basketball Tournament here on Wednesday. Gurviraj gathered eight points for the hosts while Yuval was the lone scorer for National Public School. 

In the second match of the day, Harnoor scored 12 points to help Vivek High School, Sector 38, trounce St Anne’s School 16-8. Jagjit gathered six points for St Anne’s. Vivek High School, Mohali, meanwhile, edged past St Peter’s boys. 

The side won 20-4. Sartaj (11 points) was the top scorer for Vivek High School. Prince scored two points for St Peter’s. In another match, Strawberry Fields World School humbled Ashiana Public School 11-5. Uday Batra scored six points for Strawberry boys while Ranveer shot three points for Ashiana School. 

Learning Paths School, Mohali, aided by Ishraj Singh’s 10-point effort, registered an 18-7 win over Saupin’s School. Jastej (four points) was the top scorer for Saupin’s School. 

Heeya shines 

In the girls’ category, Strawberry Fields defeated St Soldiers School 14-6. Heeya scored eight points for Strawberry Fields. 

Hosts St Kabir Public School downed Sacred Heart School 19-7. Kyna scored seven points for the hosts while Manyat scored five points for Sacred Heart. 

St Anne’s girls thumped Vivek High School, Mohali, 14-2. Ananya alone scored 12 points for St Anne’s. Phalgun was the only scorer for Vivek High School. 

Learning Paths School, Mohali, beat St Peter’s School 9-1. Rutvi scored six points for Learning Paths. Ashiana Public School overcame NPS 1-0.
