Chandigarh: Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-C, organised a workshop for teachers on ‘First-aid techniques’. Resource person was Sushil Tank, member, Red Cross Society, Chandigarh. Around 45 teachers attended the workshop. The participants underwent interactive and practical sessions.

DAV Police School

Panchkula: DAV Police Public School, Panchkula, organised a field trip to a nursery. Children observed and explored a variety of shrubs, creepers, fruits, and colorful flowers and interacted with the gardener. The field trip sensitised the students about caring for the environment and the importance of planting more trees.

Govt Model High School

Chandigarh: Essay writing, poster making and painting competition were organised at the GMHS Khudda Jassu, in collaboration with the National Green Corps Programme of the eco-club. Children were made aware about the importance of saving environment.

Bhavan Vidyalaya

Chandigarh: To emphasise the importance of colours in life, ‘orange day’ was celebrated by the pre-primary wing at Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior, Chandigarh. The students came dressed up in orange outfits.

Satluj Public School

Panchkula: Satluj Public School organised a summer camp which included a visit to Asiad Gemini Circus, Butterfly Park, Fun Republic, etc. Campers also participated in clay modelling, theatre, personality development, music, dance, culinary skills development, etc. The closing ceremony included songs, dances, speeches and prize distribution.

Delhi Public School

Chandigarh: A workshop on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid was organised for the teachers of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The workshop was conducted by a team from Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Teachers were given hands-on training in CPR by the team.

Learning Paths School

Mohali: A storytelling module workshop ‘Weaving Skills through tales and folktales’ was organiSed at Learning Paths School. Jyoti Sharma, counselling psychologist, conducted the workshop. The module was organised by mental health and behavioral sciences department of Fortis Healthcare

St Joseph’s School

Chandigarh: Monica Chawla, Principal of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, was adjudicated as ‘The Educationist of the year 2017-18.’ The award was bequeathed by the Silver Zone Foundation, New Delhi, to laud her innovative developmental strategies. —TNS
