Class IX students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, held a special assembly to observe World Population Day. Dr Saraswathy from community medicine department, PGIMER, delivered a talk and presentation on impact of population explosion. She interacted with students and guided them to generate awareness in the society to overcome this problem and become responsible citizens by using resources judiciously. Different kinds of activities, including poster-making and slogan writing contests were held for students of Classes VI-X.

PML SD Public School, Chandigarh

In order to maintain good health one should eat healthy meals. And good eating habits should be inculcated among kids at early stage. . Kindergarten students of PETALS, a unit of PML SD Public School, brought a variety of sandwiches, including vegetable sandwiches, cheese and grilled toasts and bagels using multigrain breads. 

AKSIPS-45 Smart School, Chandigarh

AKSIPS-45 Smart School observed World Population Day. A workshop was organised wherein experts from the SLSA, Chandigarh were invited. Students were made aware of grave consequences of the rising population and the measures to control it. The Child Rights and Women Helpline numbers were shared on the occasion. 

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh

Class VIII students of Delhi Public School celebrated their class show with great zeal and enthusiasm. Around 300 students participated in inter-section street play competition. The objective of the event was to sensitise students about various ills plaguing the society, including corruption, save the girl child, cyber crime and organ donation. Students through their brilliant scripts and performances created gripping narratives on the stage. TNS
