Students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38-D, Chandigarh, conducted a special assembly to pay tributes to those who died in the atomic bomb explosions in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Students of Class VII presented speeches, thoughts, poems and songs to express suffering and losses caused by the blasts.

Kids ‘R’ Kids School, Chandigarh

Students of Kids ‘R’ Kids School, Sector 42-C, organised Parents’ Day. Children welcomed their parents with a song, ‘Beauty of God’. Students performed a skit, ‘Parivartan Zaroori Hai’, and Bengali song ‘Ekla Chalo Re’. A comic skit was also performed to enhance the spirits of the audience. Students paid tributes to the Indian Army 

DC Montessori, Mani Majra

The annual function for the junior wing was held with zeal and enthusiasm at DC Montessori School. The function named ‘Family reunion and our national heroes' included a series of thematic performances. School Principal Renu Verma applauded the performances and congratulated the staff and the students.

Valley Public School, Panchkula

A two-day ‘science exhibition’ was held on the school premises. Students participated in the exhibition with scientific temperament and presented both working and non-working models.

Paragon Convent, Chandigarh

To develop the scientific aptitude of students, a group of Class VIII students was taken to the UIET. They were shown different models and research advancement on which the UIET is currently working. Students were inspired and thrilled to know about the innovations.

St Joseph’s School, Chandigarh

Debaters of Class VIII of St Joseph’s School took part in an enthralling Hindi debate. The young speakers were asked to prepare their arguments on ‘Mahatma Gandhi ka pyaar ya Bhagat Singh ka Inqlab’.

Sharda Sarvhitkari, Chandigarh

Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh, organised a painting competition for the senior classes. The topic was ‘Problems faced by Mother Earth’. Students participated enthusiastically and with artistic fervour. Chander, a student of Class XII, got the first prize.

Doon International, Mohali

The primary wing of the school visited Gurdwara Amb Sahib to seek the blessings of the Almighty. Children paid obeisance to the Guru Granth Sahib. They were apprised of the history of the Gurdwara.

Adarsh Public, Chandigarh

Students of Adarsh Public Smart School, Sector 20-B, Chandigarh, organised a ‘nukkad natak’ on ‘Save Water’. Students came to know how water is valuable for all the living beings.

St Vivekanand Millennium, Pinjore

The school organised the 10th Manav Kalyan Shivir. The ‘shivir’ included a blood donation camp by the rotary blood bank,Chandigarh, dental checkup by Bhojia Dental College and Hospital, eye check-up camp by Himachal Eye Hospital, Kalka. Kalka MLA Latika Sharma was the chief guest.

New Public School, Chandigarh

The New Public School conducted an inter-school turban-tying competition. DSP Jaswinder Singh presided over the function. In the junior category, Anmolveer Singh of Guru Harkishan Model School, Amritapal Singh of Holy Angel School and Dakshpreet Singh of Secret Souls School won the first, second and third prize, respectively. In the senior category, Dayajit Singh of Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Bhavjot Singh of Guru Nanak Public School and Amritpal Singh of Paragon Senior Secondary School won the first, second and third prize, respectively. tns
