Around 400 students of Classes VI-XII of Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38-D, Chandigarh, participated in the annual athletics meet at Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh. Students of Class VI performed yoga asanas, while those studying in Classes VII and VIII exhibited their skills and proficiency through lazium drill and bamboo dance. Rishab Garg, Harshit Kumar, Bhajanpreet Kaur and Sristhi were adjudged the best athletes. Blue house bagged the overall running trophy. 

Yadavindra Public, Mohali

Students of the senior wing of Yadavindra Public School presented the captivating tale of ‘Aladdin’ at Tagore Theatre. With beautiful costumes, songs and dances, the students wove a tantalising tapestry of desire and evil, poverty and struggle, truth and triumph and made the audience a part of the marquee. The guest of honour, former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice SS Sodhi, appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers.

AKSIPS-125, Chandigarh

AKSIPS-125 Smart School, Greater Mohali, organised its annual function titled 'Astitva- the Essence of Life'. The theme was 'Be focused on goals of life and never give up to achieve them'. The chief guest, Himanshu Jain, Kharar SDM, appreciated the efforts of the school and motivated the students to work hard. Jasdeep Kalra, executive director, AKSIPS Group of Schools, encouraged the students to involve themselves in co-curricular activities. Principal Jagjit Sekhon was also present on the occasion.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Bhavan Vidyalaya organised ECO-FEST-2019 to sensitise youth to environment-friendly ways of leading life. Founder-chairman Kulwant Singh inaugurated the event. Schools from across the tricity sent their delegation to learn the most recent dimensions of science. The event included science exhibition, display of organic farming, ‘nukkad natak’, herbal magic, papillon exhibits and much more. 

Manav Mangal, Zirakpur

A maths and value mela was organised at Manav Magal Smart World School, Zirakpur, for students of the Kindergarten and primary wing. Practical models of addition and subtraction were presented through games. Division machine and multiplication calculator were set up and students explained the concept of multiplication and division using the same. Number balancing game, snakes and ladders game and fishing and fun games were also set up. 

St Soldier, Mohali

St Soldier organised an exhibition to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The model of Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara prepared by Class IX students was the highlight of the exhibition, which began with ‘ardaas’, followed by shabad recitation.

DAV-8, Chandigarh

DAV Public School, Sector 8, organised ‘Bhajan Sandhya’. Principal Jaskiran Harika greeted the guests and parents of students of Classes IV to VI. The students presented ‘dhanya ha tujhko e rishi’, ‘peekar pyala om naam ka’, ‘naam prabhu ka pyara om’, ‘swami ji tum jo kar gaye’, ‘prabhu ka naam tu jap le bande’, ‘om shakti hai, shakti badaye’, ‘jai jai rishi ki jai’. The evening concluded with recitation of ‘shanti paath’ followed by distribution of prasad among all.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mohali

The two-day KVS 27th National Children Science Congress-2019 concluded at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 80, Mohali. The selected 18 projects for the national-level 27th NCSC-2019 to be held at Bhopal were felicitated by the chief guest, Suhkpinder Kaur, tehsildar, Mohali. tns
