Chandigarh: The Chandigarh State Squash Association will organise the State Championship from June 27-30 at the Lake Sports Complex here. The championship will be held in U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19, 35+ and 45+ age-groups in both the men’s and women’s categories, the sports body said here on Thursday. The interested players need to register for the tournament before June 24, they added. TNS

Mohali boys to face Kapurthala today

Mohali: Mohali will host Kapurthala at IS Bindra PCA Stadium here in the second round of the Punjab Inter-District U-23 Cricket Championship on June 21. Mansa will travel to Ropar, while Patiala will play Sangrur. Nawanshahr will lock horns with Muktsar and Amritsar will host Fatehgarh Sahib. Barnala is scheduled to travel to Bathinda and Ludhiana will square off with Hoshiarpur at home. Ludhiana had managed a draw against Chandigarh in their opening round match. TNS

Rugby trails tomorrow

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Rugby Football Association will on Saturday conduct trials to select the team for the senior Nationals, scheduled to be held in Patna from July 18-21. The trials will be held at the Panjab University grounds from 6 pm, the sports body said here on Thursday. TNS  

Tennis c’ship from June 23 

Chandigarh: The Roots Tennis Academy will host the AITA Talent Series (TS7) Tennis Championship from June 23. The tournament will be held in U-12 and U-16 age-groups. The interested players need to register for the qualifying round on June 21. TNS
