Six hurt in mishap

Kurali: Six persons were seriously injured in a road accident on Morinda Road on Tuesday. They have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Kurali. According to information, a Santro car, which was coming from the Kangra side lost its way and turned towards the Morinda side. Immediately, another car, heading towards Morinda, collided with it. Those injured have been identified as Deepak Shankar Mehta and Shubham (both residents of   Kangra), Jatinder Singh, Jaspreet Kaur, Devinder Kaur and Samarth Singh. OC 

Man booked for kidnapping girl 

Kharar: The police here booked Raj Kumar, a resident of Nawanshahar village, under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC for allegedly  abducting a  14-year-old girl. The girl’s father told the police that her daughter studied in Class IX at a Kharar School and had left the house for her school at 11.30 am with another girl. She did not return home. He alleged that Kumar abducted her, luring her on the pretext of marriage. OC

Man found on rail track dies

Kharar: An unidentified man, who was found lying on a railway track near Jagatpura village in a serious condition, died at the PGI on Sunday. ASI Manohar Lal, in-charge of the railway police post, Kharar, said they were informed about the man by the driver of a train on October 15 night. The driver suspected him to be dead. On reaching the spot, the police found him alive. He was immediately taken to the GMCH-32, Chandigarh, from where he was referred to the PGI. He could not be identified. The body will be kept in a mortuary for the next 72 hours. OC
