A service lane in Sector 27 D, Chandigarh, speaks volume about apathy of the MC. It’s been four months and the civic body has failed to remove rubble and repair the servce lane. As monsoon is around the corner, the lane has become a breeding ground for snakes and mosquitoes. Even, residents do not care to speak to the authorities concerned. The City Beautiful is becoming ugly day by day. PM Narendra Modi is pushing for “Swachh Bharat” and the MC is in denial mode.

is Tribune chowk a bus stop?

stopping  long route buses at Tribune Chowk has become a nuisance. Instead of stopping at a designated bus stop, bus drivers often stop just meters away from the chowk. As a result, it leads to massive jam and the ones who want to take a turn towards slip road are caught in the middle of nowhere. It has been observed that policemen on duty do not challan state transport buses. Drivers should be challaned as no one is above law and to ensure that buses just halt at bus stop. Moreover, number of cops should be increased at Tribune Chowk.

A threat for joggers

A wire has been hanged temporarily by the Electricity Department in a public park at Sector 47 D, Chandigarh. It’s been four to five days that the live wire hangs in the middle of track. The authorities concerned do not bother to route the wire through a proper channel. A strong gush of wind can land the wire on the ground and can cause injury to joggers and kids.
