Server failed during auction, says applicant; demands probe

CHANDIGARH: The e- auction of the vehicle registration numbers of new series “CH01-BM” for choice registration became embroiled in a controversy after a resident Jasjeet Singh Dhillon filed a complaint before the Registration and the Licensing Authorities today that that he failed to get choice number due to the technical glitches occurred at the last moment of the auction.

The e- auction of the vehicle registration numbers of new series “CH01-BM” for choice registration became embroiled in a controversy after a resident Jasjeet Singh Dhillon filed a complaint before the Registration and the Licensing Authorities today that that he failed to get choice number due to the technical glitches occurred at the last moment of the auction. He has demanded fair probe into the failure of the server at the crucial moment

In the complaint Jasjeet said on the last day of the auction the problem occurred in the server around 4.15 PM and he had to log out the website for three times. He said that RLA officials also accepted that there was server problem. He said that finally it got rectified at 4.40 PM.

He said later he put the bid for Rs 65,000 for the number 0100 at 4.59 minutes and it was successfully submitted by him. But after the completion of the process he got the message that he was unsuccessful to get any number . Jasjeet demanded fair inquiry into the issue. On the other hand, RLA in charge Captain Karnail Singh could not be contacted on the complaint.
