Scuffle turns ugly, claims youth’s life

CHANDIGARH: A 22-year-old youth was murdered by some unknown person at Mauli Jagran last night. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Satish. The police said the victim had a scuffle with someone around 8.30 pm, which turned ugly after which he was hit with a glass bottle on his head and hand. He then returned home.

A 22-year-old youth was murdered by some unknown person at Mauli Jagran last night. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Satish. The police said the victim had a scuffle with someone around 8.30 pm, which turned ugly after which he was hit with a glass bottle on his head and hand. He then returned home.

“The youth didn’t have any major visible injury mark on his head though there was an injury mark on his hand,” said a police official.

The police said the youth returned home after the incident and slept. At night, he felt pain and became unconscious following which he was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, where he succumbed to the injuries. The police were informed about the incident. They reached the spot and met the victim’s family and recorded their statements.

The body was brought to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where the postmortem was conducted today after which the body was handed over to the family.

The police have registered a murder case against unknown person at the Mauli Jagran police station. “We are trying to find out with whom the victim had a scuffle,” the police said. The footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area is also being scrutinised by the police.
