Nabha, November 10

Resentment prevails among teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) located on Cantonment road in the town over being called on duty despite the fact the state government had ordered the closure of schools in view of dense smog which had claimed many precious lives.

They said most of the employees were coming from Patiala daily and there was no fun to call them on duty when the school had been closed for three days by the Punjab Government. School Principal Vishal Gupta said the school had been closed as per the directions of the government and teachers and other staff were being called on duty for emergency work. He said most of the teachers were residing in Nabha and if anyone was commuting up and down from Patiala, he or she was doing it on their own risk. — TNS
