Gurukul Global, Chandigarh

Six students of Gurukul Global, who are a part of the school basketball academy, were selected by the Chandigarh Basketball Association to represent the city at the 36th Youth National Basketball Championship. The event was held at Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu). Out of these six players, two students — Amrendra Nayak and Deepak — have been selected to attend a national coaching camp of the U-16 men basketball team at the Basketball Academy, Jai Prakash Narayan National Youth Centre, Vidyanagar, Bangalore.

St Joseph’s School, Chandigarh

A story-telling session through puppets was organised at the kindergarten block of St Joseph’s School, wherein the teachers created a jungle scene and used hand puppets to narrate the story. Tiny tots enjoyed watching their movements, listening to their dialogues and interacting with puppets. The puppet show not only taught the students moral lessons, but enhanced their communication and listening skills.

Sharda Sarvhitkari, Chandigarh

Veer Savarkar Jayanti was celebrated at Sharda Sarvhitkari School, Chandigarh, wherein students presented poems and songs in the morning assembly.

Stepping Stones, Chandigarh

A felicitation ceremony was held to honour 26 students of Class XII who scored more than 90 per cent. Principal Anu Kumar and Sunil Kumar, Director, Academics, presented the students with mementos and commendation certificates.

Ankur School, Chandigarh

An investiture was held at Ankur School wherein the prefectorial team was formally invested with their power and responsibility. Kusum Singh, president, Ankur School Management Committee, Prof AK Saihjpal, Treasurer, Dr Bimla Nehru and other management members graced the occasion.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

Toddlers of AKSIPS-41 Smart School celebrated ‘fruit chat day’. Children brought various seasonal fruits which were washed, peeled and cut by teachers and helpers in the class.

Ryan International School, Mohali

To introduce yellow colour to students, a lemonade party was organised for the kindergarten students. Children enjoyed making lemonade under teachers’ guidance.

Sri Guru Harkrishan Public 

Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 40-C, held a workshop on ‘Discipline and guidance’ by Dr Anup from MBD Group. The resource person enlightened the participating teachers through an amusing interactive session to adapt an encouraging and motivating attitude to maximise the potential of students. Principal Pritinder Kaur thanked the resource person for imparting such vital information.

Brilliance World, Panchkula

An inter-house English quiz was conducted by Brilliance World School. The quiz aimed at improving the observation power and ensuring language awareness among the students. The first position was grabbed by Aravalli House, while the Himalaya House got the second position and the Nilgiri House remained at the third position. TNS
