Jaspreet double sinks Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Jaspreet Singh scored a brace as Punjab beat neighbours Haryana 3-1 on the second day of the 73rd Santosh Trophy for North Zone at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Sports Complex in Katra on Tuesday.

Jaspreet Singh scored a brace as Punjab beat neighbours Haryana 3-1 on the second day of the 73rd Santosh Trophy for North Zone at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Sports Complex in Katra on Tuesday. 

Parmjit Singh was the other scorer for Punjab, while Parveen Dhull struck the lone goal for Haryana.

In the second match, Uttar Pradesh beat Himachal Pradesh by solitary goal. Ankur Kumar Sharma scored the lone goal of the match. 

Arjun Azad in India U-19 a squad 

Chandigarh: City cricketer Arjun Azad will be a part of India U-19 A team for the quadrangular series to be played in Thiruvananthapuram from March 5-11. The team will be led by Ludhiana-based Nehal Wadhera. Another Punjab cricketer, Yuvraj Chaudhary, also finds a place in the 16-member squad.  The other members of the squad are Yashasvi Jaiswal (MCA), Qamran Iqbal (JKCA), Priyansh Arya (DDCA), Shashwat Rawat (BCA), Dhruv Chand Jurel (UPCA), Siddhesh Veer (MHCA), Ravi M Bishnoi (Team Rajasthan), Shubhang Hegde (KSCA), Yatin Mangwani (MHCA), Ishan Afridi (MPCA), Kartik Tyagi (UPCA), Harsh Dubey (VCA) and Akash Singh (Team Rajasthan). tns
