Sanitary workers’ Bhopal study tour from July 14

Finally, the first batch of Panchkula sanitary workers will leave for a four-day study tour to Bhopal on July 14.

Among six sanitary workers, who are part of the 10-member MC team, three are women. The team will led by Executive Officer Jarnail Singh.

MC Commissioner-cum-Administrator Rajesh Jogpal said apart from sanitary workers, there will be sanitary inspectors and supervisors in the team.

The Panchkula MC has fixed a meeting of members of the team with officials, elected representatives and safai karamcharis in Bhopal.

Rajesh Jogpal said the tour will give exposure to sanitary workers. All expenses on it would be borne by the MC, he added. The MC has decided to send safai karamcharis on the study tour to top 10 cleanest cities in the country. The idea behind the study tour is give exposure to sanitary workers to understand the sanitation management system of the cities, which topped in the Swachh Survekshan-2018. After Bhopal, MC officials are planning another study tour for sanitary workers to Indore.
