Sandeep wins rowing gold

CHANDIGARH:Sandeep Kumar claimed the gold medal in the M1X event of the All India Police Rowing Championship, being organised by Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), at Sukhna Lake on Tuesday.

Sandeep Kumar claimed the gold medal in the M1X event of the All India Police Rowing Championship, being organised by Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), at Sukhna Lake on Tuesday. 

Saurav of CRPF claimed the silver medal, while Imrat Sen of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) claimed the bronze medal. In the M2 event, Rubin Mangar and Rohit Kumar of ITBP won the top honour, while Sarabjit Singh and Gurkanwal Singh of Punjab Police claimed the silver medal. Gagandeep Singh and Manjeet Singh of SSB won the bronze medal.

In the M4 event, Punjab Police’s Jagmeet Singh, Sukhdeep Sing, Manjit Singh and Gurjeet Singh won the gold, while Jagsir Singh, CS Sahoo, Aneesh TA and Sharma Singh of CRPF claimed the silver medal. SSB’s Rajiv Singh, Mangat Singh, Appu Patra and Gulshan Kumar claimed the third spot. In the M2x event, Pritpal Singh and Gurwinder Singh of Punjab Police claimed the top position, followed by Midhun Mohan and Satnam Singh of BSF in second and Samadhan Gavali and Yogesh Labahde of MHA in third.

Punjab Police win maximum medals      

Punjab Police won the most medals on the penultimate day. Punjab Police won 10 medals — six gold, two silver, two bronze — to top the table. ITBP team claimed the second spot with seven medals. —TNS
