Sahil bags rowing gold

CHANDIGARH:Sahil Mudgil clocked 6 minutes and 55.4 seconds (6:55.4) to claim the 2km light weight single scull gold medal in the Chandigarh Indoor Rowing Championship held at Sukhna Lake today.

Sahil Mudgil clocked 6 minutes and 55.4 seconds (6:55.4) to claim the 2km light weight single scull gold medal in the Chandigarh Indoor Rowing Championship held at Sukhna Lake today. 

Raman (7:43.3) and Virender (8:21.9) claimed the second and third positions, respectively. In the men’s single scull, Subham Pahwa (7:07.2), Lovejot Singh (7:15.6) and Gaurav Malik (7:22.2) claimed the top three positions. Aditya Singh and Sukhdeep Singh claimed the men’s pair gold medal by clocking 6:59.2. 

Tarsem Singh and Amarbir Singh (7:18.1) claimed the second spot.

In the men’s lightweight, the team of Dikbijoy Sharma and Gurdeep Singh (7:27.7) won the title, while in the junior category, Savinay amd Sudarshan (7:28.7) bagged the top position. 

Varun Antil and Akashdeep (7:31.5) and Gurcharan and Sanjay (8:13.5s) finished second and third, respectively. In the junior single scull event, Mohit Bhadu claimed the title with a timing of 7:35.1, while Rajat Kumar finished second in 7:39.2. Saurav Malik (8:17.1) ended at the third position. In the 500m women’s single scull event, Ashmeet Gill (1:49.7), Pooja (1:50.7) and Manisha (2:10.6) bagged top three positions.—TNS
