SA Jain Model School, GNMS athletes clinch overall titles

SA Jain Model School, Ambala, emerged overall champions in the U-14 category on the concluding day of the CBSE Cluster XVIII Athletics Meet, which was organised by PML SD Public School, Sector 32, at the Sector 46 Sports Complex, here. 

Athletes from Guru Nanak Mission School (GNMS), Paonta Sahib, dominated the field in the U-17 category. St Soldier International School, Sector 28, won the overall title in the girls’ U-19 category, while Sri Dashmesh Academy, Anandpur Sahib, topped the podium in the boys’ U-19 category.

Khushi Rana of PML SD School was adjudged the Best Athlete in the girls’ U-17 category, while Mehtab of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, was named the Best Athlete in the boys’ U-17 category. 

Ashish Dogra of Ambala Public School was declared the Best Athlete in the boys’ U-19 category.

Simran on top

Meanwhile, Simran Kaur of Lawrence Public School, Mohali, won the gold medal in the girls’ U-17 javelin throw competition on the last day of the championship on Monday. 

Stanzin Dawa of CST, Shimla, bagged the silver, while Khushi Chaudhary of CVR Public School, Ambala, returned with the bronze medal. 

In the boys’ category, Amandeep Singh of Laxmidara Public School, Sialba Majra, finished on top of the podium. He was followed by Naurang of CST, Dalhousie, and Gaurav of Vivek International School, Himachal Pradesh, in second and third places, respectively. 

Vipin races to gold 

Vipin Kumar of Army School, Yol, raced to 5000m gold in the boys’ U-19 competition. Aziz Singh of Sri Dashmesh Academy claimed the silver, while Atul Kumar of The New Public School, Sector 18, had to be content with the bronze medal.

Anmoldeep, Raj shine

Anmoldeep Kaur of St Soldier School won the shot put gold in the girls’ U-19 category. Mamraj Brar of CVR Public School, Ambala, and Ripudaman Kaur of Sri Dashmesh Academy claimed the second and third positions, respectively. 

Raj Roshan of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, Dhananter Singh of Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, and Ravinder of RIS, Nagrota, won the top three positions, respectively, in the boys’ U-19 shot put contest.
