Mohali, June 23

Volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party held a protest against the unruly scenes witnessed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha yesterday.

The protest was held at the Phase III-V traffic light point, where the protesters burnt an effigy of Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP. They raised slogans against the state government and demanded the resignation of the Speaker.

The vehicular movement was affected during the protest. Among the protesters were AAP candidate from Mohali during the Assembly elections Narinder Singh Shergill and other leaders of the party. Shergill told mediapersons that the Speaker had acted in a dictatorial manner. The Congress was trying to suppress the voice of leaders, which would not be tolerated by AAP.

The protesters said if the Speaker did not quit, the protest would continue.
