Chandigarh: RSB Chandigarh beat Team Haryana 4-1 to win the All-India Civil Services Football Championship, which concluded in Bhopal on December 22. Led by Randeep Singh Rana, RSB Chandigarh remained unbeaten in the six-day tournament. In the final, Rakinderjit Singh struck a brace (60th, 62nd), while Amandeep (33rd) and Shivam Dhull (64th) scored a goal each for RSB Chandigarh. TNS

BECC, TCA Agra in cricket final

Patiala: Black Elephant Cricket Club (BECC) defeated TJCA Bathinda by five wickets to enter the final of the 7th Little Champ Cricket Cup at BECC grounds here on Thursday. Batting first, TJCA could manage a paltry 95/8 in 35 overs. In reply, BECC reached home in 28.1 overs with five wickets to spare. Dilpreet scored 25 runs, while Sagar contributed 15 runs to the chase. Prabhashish of BECC was declared Man of the Match for his spell of 2/19. In the final, BECC will face TCA Agra, which defeated SD Jain Secondary School Ambala by 51 by runs in the last league match. TNS

City skaters shine 

Chandigarh: Chandigarh won 12 medals, including four gold, in the National Roller Hockey Championship, which was held in Visakhapatnam from December 17-23. While the city boys won a gold medal each in sub-junior quad and inline competitions, girls fetched a silver in quads and a bronze medal in the inline contest. In the junior category, the boys’ team won a silver and a bronze medal, respectively, in the quads and inline, while the girls claimed silver medal in each of the competitions. The men’s team topped the podium in both inline and quads competitions and women finished third in each category. TNS
