Rs7,114 cr credit plan launched for Fatehgarh Sahib district

An annual potential credit plan of Rs 7114.54 crore prepared by NABARD for the 2020-21 fiscal was launched by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amrit Kaur Gill during a meeting of consultative committee held here today.

The DC said, “The theme of the credit plan is “Hi-tech agriculture and allied activities. The objective is to sustain the contribution of agriculture and allied activities in development of the district and to achieve four per cent targeted growth in agriculture and allied sector, whereby accelerating the pace of capital formation in agriculture and allied activities, which has assumed paramount importance.”

“The potential of disbursement in agriculture has been assessed at Rs 4732.66 crore. It includes crop loan, agriculture infrastructure, agricultural-ancillary and agricultural term loans, micro small and medium enterprises (MSME), which has been assessed at Rs 1,250.15 crore,” the DC added.

“Export credit has been assessed at Rs 346.87 crore (new entry in priority sector as per revised guidelines), education at Rs 207.10 crore (again a new entry in priority sector), housing at Rs 468.60 crore, renewal energy at Rs 13.23 crore and social infrastructure and others at Rs 96.93 crore,” the DC said.

“In this plan two areas of development schemes diary activities and protected vegetables cultivation, including playhouse or net house, has also been under process,” the DC added.

Sanjeev Kain, AGM, RBI, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, DDM, NABARD, Jaswant Singh, lead district manager, SBI, and AC Sharma, director, SBI-R-Seti, also addressed participants at the meeting.
