A purse containing Rs 2.5 lakh, gold jewellery and other valuables was stolen from a wedding function at Hotel Park Inn in Sector 35 on August 15.
The complainant, Prem Gorkhi, a resident of Zirakpur, reported that someone stole the purse of his wife, containing the cash, a pair of gold earrings, a gold chain and two mobile phones. The purse was kept on a chair. It was the wedding of the complainant’s son.
The police checked the footage of CCTV cameras. “A suspect is seen in the CCTV footage and efforts are being made to identify the accused,” said a police official. A case has been registered. — TNS
