Rose Fest chopper ride to cost Rs 2,310

The helicopter ride will cost  visitors less this year during the three-day Rose  Festival, which begins tomorrow.

The  Municipal Corporation has  selected  Delhi-based company  Dhillon Aviation to  provide  the joyride at Rs 2,310 per person during the festival. The MC selected the  company  after it  quoted the  lowest fare   among three companies. The company will share 5 per cent of the earnings with the MC.

Peeyush  Mathur, project  head of the company,   said they had made  all arrangements for providing the service. The helicopter ride around the city would take   six to seven minutes.

He said they would set up  a counter for receiving  the  fee on the spot   at  Parade Ground. He said the company would also  provide an insurance cover of Rs  1 crore to each rider. Like last year, the chopper service  will start  at Parade Ground in Sector 17.

In 2017, the fee for the chopper ride was around  Rs 3,500,  while  in 2018,   it was  Rs  2,380. Mathur  said the helicopter service  would be  provided during all three days  of the festival  from  8.30 am  till the evening.
