Road mishap claims 2 lives in Morinda

MORINDA: Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident here late on Wednesday evening.

Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident here late on Wednesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Amritpal Singh (28) and Sonu (30), both residents of Dadiana village in Fathegarh Sahib district, and the injured as Jagmit Singh of Dadiana village and Ajit Singh of Panechan village.

Amritpal’s uncle Harmit Singh said his nephew, along with three others, was returning from Dugri village in Ropar district when the car they were travelling in hit a tree on the roadside near the Samrala bypass.

While Sonu was killed on the spot, Amritpal Singh died on the way to hospital, he said. The other two were taken to a local government hospital. However, Ajit Singh was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, as his condition was serious.
