Members of Sherwood Estate, a housing society on the Landran-Chunni Road in Sector 113, and RKM Housing Limited on Sunday accused founders of the Sherwood Estate misappropriation of its members’ money by making false commitments.

During a press meet, Balkar Singh, Lalit Bhatia, Vishal Gupta and Sarv Satkar Singh, who claimed to represent 200 affected members, alleged: “Some senior officials of the Punjab Government formed The Sherwood Officers Society, and they are the founder members and office-bearers of the society.”

“They purchased a chunk of land, measuring approximately 12 acres in 2010 in Sector 113 here. Later, they invited applications for the allotment of residential plots in 2011, without obtaining the CLU from GMADA. The needy persons purchased the plots and paid around Rs 44 crore. The officers assured the public to handover the possession of plots to allottees within a period of one-and-a-half year from the date of booking, but to no avail,” they alleged.

“They issued a letter in 2014, stating that they were unable to obtain the CLU and have decided to handover the project to RKM Housing Limited, Mohali, by Kawaljit Singh Ahluwalia, managing director, but nothing much changed on the grounds,” the members added.
