With an objective to promote and nurture scientific research in Panjab University (PU), the Department of Chemistry organised the third research award ceremony under the aegis of Smt Prem Lata and Professor DVS Jain Research Foundation.

While Professor DVS Jain Research Award was conferred on Dr Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, Professor, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Professor Sushil K Kansal of SSB University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology received Smt Prem Lata Jain Research Award (2017).

Professor Raghuram Rao, Director, NIPER, Mohali, bestowed the awards. In his key address, Professor Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, PU, exhorted other faculty members and young researchers to carry out meaningful research, not only for wider scientific reach but also for social impact.

The best publication awardees include Dr Palani Natarajan (Chemistry), Dr Navneet Kaur (Associate Professor, Chemistry), Dr Rohit Kumar Sharma (Chemistry), Professor BS Bhoop (UIPS) and Dr Savita Chaudhary, Chemistry.
