Traffic near and around the residence of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh remained hampered due to a private religious programme organised outside Health Minister Brahm Mohindra’s house on Sunday.

The Chief Minister’s and Health Minister’s houses are only a few metres away on the road where the program was organised.

While the road was blocked due to the religious program, the adjacent roads were blocked with help of barricades. People commuting to the city from villages, including Main and Sullar, faced inconvenience as the roads connecting villages and the city were blocked.

Those coming from Officer’s Colony, Kheri Gujran, Rose Avenue and New Officer’s Colony had to take alternative routes.

Raju, who commutes for work near the Patiala aviation ground, said the connecting road to the area was blocked since Saturday evening. “I had to face problem on Saturday evening and Sunday as traffic remained blocked near the Chief Minsiter’s residence. I had to commute through the internal roads of Officer’s Colony where several others were going around in circles searching for exits.”
