The Department of Cultural Affairs and the Tagore Theatre Society presented a Punjabi comedy play, "Pai Gya Puaada", by the Aks Theatre Group, Abohar, as part of the Jaspal Bhatti Sunday Comedy Series at Tagore Theatre, here today.

Written, directed and adapted in Punjabi by Surinder Narula from his own award-winning Hindi production, "Aisa Bhi Hota Hai", a satirical play, was specially designed in a situational comedy-drama in the inimitable Jaspal Bhatti-style of exposing serious evils ailing our society in a lighter vein comedy.

The play depicts how a clever, but witty assistant film director, Surinder Narula, and contemptuous film director Bobby Sandhu exploit the people to extort money by offering roles in their films, which, however, were never released.

Their prospective preys included an alcoholic lady, an eunuch, a policeman and more. The play needing more innovative additions, however, kept the audience in thrilling humour. Deepak Kamboj, Rakesh, Amar, Jagriti Miglani and others essayed the roles. Director, Tagore Theatre, Kuldip Sharma honoured the artistes.
