Punjab to face Chhattisgarh in Dhruv Pandove opener

Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) will organise the 8th All-India U-19 Invitational Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy at Patiala from August 24 to September 5. 

Hosts Punjab will take on Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh in the tournament opener, while Himachal Pradesh will square off with Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association. 

Eight teams were invited for the championship, but due to unprecedented floods in various parts of the country only four teams, including the hosts, have confirmed their participation in the tournament, the PCA said.   

The matches will supervised by the PCA panel umpires and scorers. 

The league matches will be a two-day affair, while the final will be played over three days from September 2. 

The winners will get a prize purse of Rs 2 lakh, while the runners-up will take home Rs 1 lakh. 

Apart from the Man of the Match award for each match, the organisers will also adjudged the Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Best All-rounder of the tournament, the PCA added.
