Punjab’s Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu, has appealed to the farmers of the state for processing and marketing their agriculture products. He invoked various initiatives taken by Chief Minister Captain, Amarinder Singh to increase their profits.

Sidhu was here to address the 3rd Innovative Farmers’ Meet, on Modern Agriculture, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) at JD farmers, on Tuesday.

Sidhu said under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the government had already taken various initiatives to raise the income of the farmers. Giving an example of making chips from potato and popcorn from maize, the minister advocated that the farmers can progress by resorting to marketing. — TNS
