Prince takes St Peter’s to victory

CHANDIGARH:Prince scored eight points as St Peter’s School, Sector 37, overcame St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, 13-7 in a closely contested match on the second day of the St Kabir Inter-School Basketball Championship here on Tuesday.

Prince scored eight points as St Peter’s School, Sector 37, overcame St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, 13-7 in a closely contested match on the second day of the St Kabir Inter-School Basketball Championship here on Tuesday. Athran gathered two points for St Joseph’s School. 

Vivek High School, Sector 38, drubbed Vivek High School, Mohali, 25-3. Hanur scored 12 points for the Sector 38 school, while Manthan scored two points for the Mohali outfit. 

In another match, Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, edge past New Public School, Sector 18, 7-2. Ranveer gathered five points for Ashiana School, while Kinshv added two points to New Public School tally. 

Strawberry Fields World School, Sector 26, toiled hard to beat Saupin’s School, Sector 32, 13-12. Uday’s scored eight points for Strawberry Fields, while Jastej added six points Saupin’s tally.

Hosts St Kabir Public School, Sector 26, meanwhile, registered a 21-13 win over Learning Paths School, Mohali. Aaditya (8 points) was the top scorer for St Kabir. 

Strawberry girls triumph

In the girls’ category, Strawberry Fields downed Learning Paths School 10-1. Nanki continued his good form for Strawberry Fields, contributing six points to their tally. 

Anhat’s 10-point effort helped Vivek High School, Mohali, blank St Soldier’s School, Panchkula, 10-0. 

St Anne’s School, Sector 32, registered a 9-0 win over St Peter’s School, while St Kabir girls’ trounced Saupin’s School 18-2. Kyna scored 10 points for the hosts. 

In the last match of the day, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, defeated Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, 19-2. Richa scored seven points for Sacred Heart.
