Chandigarh, February 8

A brilliant half-century by Prashant Chopra helped AG Punjab thrash AG Uttarakhand by 10 wickets and move into the semifinals of the North Zone IA&AD Cricket Tournament here on Friday.

The match was reduced to 15 overs a side after the play was delayed due to wet outfield.

Punjab won the toss and invited Uttarakhand to bat. The visitors were all out for 80 runs in 13.5 overs. Amit Kumar made 29 runs, while Bharat Singh added 20 runs to the total. Arpit Pannu was the most effective bowler for Punjab, claiming 3/26.

Needing 81 runs for victory, Punjab rode on Chopra’s unbeaten 51-run knock to reach home without any trouble. Amit Prasher remained not out on 28.
