Chandigarh, November 17

Students enrolled in the first year of MBA course at DAV Institute of Management, Sector 10, are all at sea after they were denied to take semester exams that began on November 14.

Recently, the affiliation committee of Panjab University (PU) had allowed the acceptance of returns of students at DAV Institute of Management. The institute was given a three-month time to comply with the university conditions.

A student requesting anonymity said, “When we reached the exam centre on November 14, we were told that the exam has been postponed. They made us sit at the examination room for half an hour. On Saturday also, they made us wait in the institute for two hours. We were informed that the exam has been postponed due to some error on the part of the university.”

Another student said, “We know that the institute has been given three months time, but now we are skeptical of the entire situation. We are answerable to our parents. We prepare day and night and return home without taking exams. We need answers from the authorities.”

Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examination, said, “The institute management has told us about the issue in written and we have forwarded the same to the Vice-Chancellor for consideration. The institute was not affiliated when it admitted students. It is a reputed business course and many aspects are to be considered.”

Despite repeated attempts, Rajiv Khosla, officiating in charge of the institute, could not be contacted.
