Kirron removes text after plaint

Chandigarh: BJP candidate Kirron Kher had to withdraw her message regarding her visit to religious places on Buddha Purnima after a complaint was filed by the Congress before the Election Commission. Pankaj Chandgothia advocate for the Congress had filed a complaint on C-Vigil app after he came know about the visits. He said a team of Kher circulated a message on WhatsApp and social media calling upon mediapersons to cover her visit to certain religious places on the occasion of Buddha Purnima on Saturday afternoon. Chandgothia said within half an hour after the officials came to know the complaint, the office of Kirron Kher circulated another message saying: “A day before the elections in Chandigarh, Kirron will be visiting various religious places in the city in personal capacity alone. The message to the media was sent by mistake. We sincerely apologise for that. We request media friends not to cover this personal visit. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.” However, not satisfied with this decision, Chandgothia filed complaint with the Election Commission on its online portal. TNS
