Eminent poets read out their verses at the Trilingual Kavi Sammelan, organised by the Ehsaas Adabi Society, at the auditorium of Bright School in Sector 26 here yesterday.

The programme commenced with the lightning of a lamp by chief guest Lt General BKN Chhiber (Retd), former Punjab governor, MLA Gian Chand Gupta, Poonam Chahal and others. A book of ghazals, ‘Vark dar Vark’, authored by Nalini Vibha ‘Nazli’ from Hamirpur, was also released.

The society president BD Kalia Hamdam opened up the ‘sammelan’ with ‘Jashan-e-adab toh shehar mein hote hain roaz roaz, lekin adeeb milte hain in mein kabhi kabhi’. Other poets were Ashok Nadir, Susheel Hasrat Narelvi, Musavvir Ferozpuri, Pawan Muntzir and Anees Ahmed Khan.
