Poetry sessions at university

The Chandigarh Rashtriya Kala Manch, a pan-India art division, organised a two-day poetry workshop ‘Kavyashala’ at Panjab University Staff Club at Sector 25 here today.

The workshop was to promote conscious poetry practice and to gain human sensitivity through art.

The workshop comprised four sessions in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu, followed by a recital session by the participants. Vikrant Khandelwal, ABVP’s North Zonal Organisational Sectary; Tanmaya Dass, All-India Rashtriya Kala Manch in-charge; and Dhruv Kandpal, All-India Rashtriya Kala Manch convenor were present. Tutors were Ansh Sagar, Urdu and Punjabi, Parvesh Gaury for Hindi and Sonam Goyal for English.

Rashtriya Kala Manch Chandigarh chapter’s convenor, Mukesh Upadhyaya, who holds a PhD degree in theatre, said: “We will regularly organise such functions at the PU.” Vikrant Khandelwal, Dhruv Kandpal, Tanmaya Dass gave certificates to all participants.
