A theft case has been registered against three unknown persons for stealing a pit bull from Kajheri village in Sector 52. According to the police, the complainant, Karan Sharma, alleged that three unknown persons, who were riding an Activa scooter, stole his dog from near his house in Kajheri. Sources said the incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed at the spot. The accused were seen riding with the dog.

The registration number of the scooter was seen in the footage, which has been provided to the police. The complainant has also provided a picture of the dog to the police. “It is suspected that the accused are from nearby sectors of Mohali,” said a police official. A case under Section 379 (theft) of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 36 police station. The police said efforts were being made to trace the accused through the number of the Activa scooter. Earlier in May, a six-month-old pit bull puppy, Mogambo, owned by Judicial Magistrate (First Class), was stolen from outside the judicial officer’s house. Later, the thieves left it back at the house.
