In a hit-and-run case, an unknown motorcyclist sped away after hitting another a 20-year-old biker, who died in the accident.

According to the police, complainant Ashish Sharma, a resident of Mani Majra, reported that a motorcycle being ridden by Shubham, a resident of Pinjore, was hit near the Transport light point on August 7.

The victim was injured and rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was a BA final-year student of Panjab University. The police have registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving), 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the IPC against the unknown biker at the Sector 26 police station.
