PGI prof honoured in Nepal

CHANDIGARH:Dr Mahesh Prakash, a professor in the Department of Radiodiagnosis, PGI, was honoured for his outstanding contribution to musculoskeletal radiology in India and SAARC countries during a recent outreach programme ofthe Musculoskeletal Society of India at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal.

Dr Mahesh Prakash, a professor in the Department of Radiodiagnosis, PGI, was honoured for his outstanding contribution to musculoskeletal radiology in India and SAARC countries during a recent outreach programme of the Musculoskeletal Society of India at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal. 

Currently, Dr Prakash is serving as the president of the Musculoskeletal Society of India. 

The society will organise similar programmes in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the near future for teaching young radiologists in neighbouring countries. 

The the Musculoskeletal Society of India is a scientific forum of Indian musculoskeletal radiologists, which also includes doctors of other specialities such as pathology and nuclear medicine. 

The society’s main role is to provide platform for the exchange of knowledge in a rapidly advancing field of musculoskeletal radiology by promoting awareness, teaching and training to medical professionals dealing in diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorders like orthopaedic trauma, sports injuries, arthritis, tumours and other related diseases.
