PGI docs bring laurels to institute

CHANDIGARH:Doctors of the Postgraduate Institute of medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here brought laurels for the institution by winning the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) award at a special function held in New Delhi recently.

Doctors of the Postgraduate Institute of medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here brought laurels for the institution by winning the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) award at a special function held in New Delhi recently.

Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, gave away the awards to the doctors.

Prof Deepak Bansal, Professor, Department of Paediatric Medicine (2016), won the Dr PN Raju Oration Award’.

Dr Sandeep Grover, Additional Professor, Department of Psychiatry (2016), and Dr Ajit Avasthi, Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry (2014), were given the ‘Dr Vidya Sagar Award’.

Dr Sahajal Dhooria, Assistant Professor, Department of Pulmonary Medicine (2016), and Dr Navneet Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Pulmonary Medicine (2014), were presented the Kamal Satbir Award’.

Dr Sandeep Grover, Additional Professor, Department of Psychiatry (2013), was awarded with the “Shakuntala Amir Chand Prize”.

Dr Jitendra Kumar Sahu, Associate Professor, Department of Paediatric Medicine (2014), was awarded the “Dr HB Dingley Memorial Award”.

Dr Surjit Singh, Professor and Head, Department of Paediatric Medicine (2011), was awarded the “ICMR Chaturvedi Kalawati Jagmohan Das Memorial Award” - Gold Medal.

Dr Akshay Anand, Professor, Department of Neurology (2012), and Dr Virendra Singh, Professor, Department of Hepatology (2014), were awarded the “Amrut Mody Unichem Prize”.
